Royals Surges Past 3,000 Individual Donors as More Republicans Rally Behind Former Combat Aviator in Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District

Germantown, M.D. – Former Naval Flight Officer and combat aviator Tom Royals, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District, announced today his campaign has raised nearly $300,000 through the end of 2023, building on a strong start from his first quarter in the race, that was the strongest fundraising performance in an off-year quarter for any GOP candidate for the seat in 20 years.

“Every day, our campaign expands our unparalleled grassroots momentum to send a fighter to Congress to tackle the immense challenges facing hardworking Maryland families,” Royals said. “Cathleen and I are immensely grateful for the thousands of supporters who have rallied behind our mission to restore safety and security to our communities and America’s southern border, to uphold the rights of parents and to achieve a more prosperous future for families struggling under an economy being held back by failed leadership and dysfunction in Washington.”

Former combat aviator Tom Royals continues to be the only Republican candidate who has established a proven ability to raise the resources, inspire the base of grassroots support and build the organization required to win in MD-06:

  • At the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, Royals’ campaign had raised nearly $300,000 ($292,935) to date, nearly double the cycle-to-date total of the previous GOP nominee at the end of 2021.
  • Royals’ campaign ended the off-year maintaining nearly $100,000 cash-on-hand ($95,388).
  • Royals’ campaign is building a broad base of support from thousands of contributors, with more than 3,000 individual donors (3,282) at the end of the fourth quarter.

Royals also continues to be the only Republican candidate whose campaign is executing a serious, and growing field operation. The Royals campaign has knocked on tens of thousands of doors, building a grassroots army of enthusiastic supporters to take his message directly to Republican voters:

The growing momentum for Royals was on full display last quarter during the campaign’s opening of a headquarters in Germantown, attended by more than 100 supporters:
