Economy & Spending
As my wife and I grow our family, we, like millions of families around the country, have a budget and never spend more than we can afford. That is why it is so frustrating to watch out-of-touch politicians carelessly throw away billions of dollars in hard-earned taxpayer money and increasingly push America further into a debt crisis.
Not only has their reckless spending given us the worst inflation in four decades, but it’s creating a mountain of debt for our children and grandchildren to pay off. It’s time to restore common sense and fiscal discipline in Washington to stop the reckless spending, get the debt under control and deliver relief for Maryland families struggling under the weight of inflation and a sluggish economy.
If American families have to live within their means, so can the politicians in Congress. I’ll cut spending and lower middle-class taxes because you work hard for your money, and you deserve to keep more of it. One of the expenses hitting American’ wallets the hardest is high gas prices. I’ll make sure we unleash American energy to bring down prices at the pump.
Bureaucrats who have never spent a day in the real world have too much power over your life and Maryland businesses. In Congress, I’ll fight to ensure rules of the road maximize the competitiveness of Maryland businesses and support their success. Nobody can compete with American workers and American businesses on a level playing field. That’s why I’ll fight for fair trade deals, stand up to China when they rip us off, and lower the cost of doing business in the United States to bring our factories back home.
I’ll also work to enact policies that support the district’s manufacturing and agricultural sectors while encouraging more investments into our life sciences, tech, and logistics industries. In order for our district to be an economic engine, it is vital we increase funding to upgrade critical infrastructure.
