Republican Tom Royals, Former Navy Officer and Combat Aviator, Announces Campaign for MD-06

Germantown, MD – Republican Tom Royals, a husband, father, and former Navy officer and combat aviator, announced his campaign for Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District on Wednesday.

“Growing up in Maryland, I was blessed with parents who taught us to dedicate our lives in service to God, country and family,” Royals said. “So when America was under attack on 9/11, I knew I had to answer the call to defend our nation. I attended the U.S. Naval Academy, earned my wings as a Naval Flight Officer, and deployed overseas to fight for our freedoms on combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan.”

“Now, as a husband and father, I see America under a different kind of attack,” Royals continued. “Left-wing politicians are targeting the rights of parents, lawlessness on America’s southern border is allowing lethal drugs to flood into Maryland communities, anti-police rhetoric and soft on crime policies are putting communities at risk and reckless spending and out-of-control debt are threatening our economy.”

“As a father and a veteran, I will never stop fighting for children to be educated, not indoctrinated, in the classroom, to uphold the rights of parents, to restore common sense in Washington and to achieve a safer, more prosperous future for every family in Maryland’s Sixth District,” Royals said. “I’m ready to take the values that guided me on combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan to fight for our country in Congress, because when America’s under attack, you send a fighter.”
