Tom Royals: Chuck Schumer’s Comments on Israel are Monstrous and Abhorrent

Schumer’s comments underscore the critical need for a proven fighter in Congress who will unapologetically stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel

Germantown, M.D. – Former U.S. Navy aviator and Republican candidate for Congress Tom Royals, released the following statement on Friday following the recent statement made by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer referring to the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, as a major obstacle to peace in the Middle East.

In the statement, Schumer criticized Israel’s response to the horrific attacks perpetrated by Hamas against thousands of civilian Israeli women and children.

“These monstrous and abhorrent comments underscore the critical need for a proven fighter in Congress who will unapologetically stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel as America’s most important strategic ally in the Middle East, defend our shared values, and fight against anti-Semitism. Royals said. “Israel is a sovereign democratic country and has an unequivocal right to defend itself against hostile actors, the United States must support Israel in deed and in truth in its fight to destroy Hamas, free the hostages, and ensure an attack like the one on October 7th never happens again.”

“As a devout Christian and former U.S. Navy aviator who flew combat missions over Afghanistan and Iraq, I understand the importance of a strong alliance between Israel and the United States.” Royals added. “We cannot afford to coddle ignorant and dangerous views with silence.”
